Bad experience with Island Tours Excursions/Luminous Lagoon Experience
We just traveled to Jamaica and booked 2 excursions with Island Routes. The first was a tour/shopping excursion that ended up getting cancelled because they didn’t have enough people to do it. We got reimbursed for it. The second was the Luminous Lagoon Experience. That was a waste of money. We went out in the boat and when we got out to the spot where the water turns colors. The first few people got in and walked on the bottom and stirred up the soot and doesn’t allow the algae to glow. The skipper told everyone before hand not to do that. These people ruined it for everyone. Three-fourths of the boat never got into the water. When we got back home, I emailed Island Routes to tell them about our experience with the Luminous Lagoon and ask them for a $160 refund, they refused to give us any part of a refund. I even told them about my experience with their cancellation of the Montego Bay shopping excursion. These excursions were booked in January and they couldn’t fill a 4 person shopping excursion in 4 months. What does that say?

If I could give a zero
If I could give a zero, I would, this is a terrible company Do not purchase transportation from these horrible people. They never picked me up at the airport as they were supposed to and they never brought me to the airport from my hotel. They just never showed up and I paid! Countless calls, promises - NO SHOW. They ruined my vacation and first experience in Jamaica!

We booked a Dunn's River Falls excursion from Ochos Rios. We were charged but notified it was tentative due to needing 4 guest. We were emailed they would notify us no later than 48 hours in advance of the tour. They never did. We contacted them the next morning by email and were told it was still tentative. We did the same the night before the excursion and were told the same. The morning of the excursion we still had not heard whether or not the excursion would occur so we called several times but the line was busy. There was a conformation of our booking on our phone display. We waited at the pickup location for an hour and a half and emailed them again. They said the tour was still tentative- an hour and a half after our pick up time and a half an hour after the tour was supposed to start. The front desk person at our hotel asked us who we were waiting for and when we stated Island Routes- she said "Oh, you'll wait for them all day". Don't waste your precious vacation time!

Great water falls but worst tour guide
The water fall and the trekking was really great. The most terrible experience was the tour guide. His name was Everton. He was not friendly at all and behaved rude at times. He didn't want to talk or answer to our questions. He didn't even tell us where to go and what to do at the falls. We had to figure out all by ourselves. Also made us wait for almost 25 minutes at the ticket counter, just because he didnt want to walk back to the car to get the phone where we had the ticket confirmation. The Island Routes company need to put some friendly tour guides who can speak well and be friendly to visitors.
