Great tool
Great tool, painful price Been using Semrush for a while and it does the job. Keyword research, rank tracking, site audits, the data holds up and I trust what I get out of it. My one gripe is the cost. Every month the bill makes me wince, and it gets worse the moment you hit a limit and have to top up. For the money I'd expect the base limits to be more generous. Everything else is solid, so four stars.

Misleading 7-Day Refund Policy & Terrible Customer Support. Avoid at All Costs
Do not be fooled by their advertised "7-day money-back guarantee". I signed up to try out the platform, but after testing it for just one day, I found the interface unnecessarily bloated, confusing, and overly complicated to navigate for basic tasks. Since I was well within the initial 7-day trial window, I immediately reached out to cancel and request my refund based on the policy promoted at signup. Instead of honoring it, their customer service refused my request on the spot. They pulled out obscure, hidden policy exceptions that were never made transparent upfront and flat-out told me: "No, we cannot refund you." When I tried to explain the situation and hold them to their advertised guarantee, support completely rejected and dismissed my concerns. There was zero effort to help, zero accountability, and the customer service representative was completely indifferent. They gladly take your money, hide behind fine print when you try to leave, and provide the absolute worst support when you ask for fair treatment. If you are thinking about testing this tool, be warned: once they have your card details, they will do everything in their power to keep your money, guarantee or not. Save your budget and look elsewhere.

Trial beware, scam software, can not unsubscribe from 7 day free trial then charges you. You email them and they tell you they cant reverse any charges due to policy

Would say in 2026, avoid Semrush
Would say in 2026, there are a lot better alternatives out there, application wise. For businesses that I work with and support, we have now decided to pursue other options, the price for a subscription is excessive for what you get and they do offer free trials. For £200 plus per month, you would be better using that budget on other programmes, it creates a fancy dashboard, metrics and other insights, which if you know what you are doing with proper SEO understanding and a business head, most of which you can get yourself without the expense. For the business I have and the companies I support, I'd advise you take the trial, see what you get and make sure you cancel within 7 days to avoid a hefty bill.
