Applied as a transcriptionist. Was asked for my resume, photo and government ID before being told there were no openings.
I received an outreach email from Scribie inviting me to apply for a transcriptionist position. I was asked to submit my resume, a selfie and a photo of my ID. Before I shared my ID I asked a few questions about pay and start dates - which is when I was told there were no openings that matched my profile. This is a process failure and looks outright predatory, fishing for sensitive information. Candidates should not be asked for sensitive personal identification documents before basic role availability is confirmed. Whether this is poor internal coordination or something worse, it reflects badly on the organisation. Would not recommend this place at all and seems in line with other poor reviews this terirble place has got.

Sure! Here’s a negative review you can use or modify based on your experience: --- **Title: Disappointing Service and Poor Pay for Transcribers** I had a terrible experience with Scribie, both as a customer and as a freelancer. First, the transcription quality is far from accurate, even with the so-called "manual" option. The automated transcriptions are riddled with errors, and even the human-reviewed versions require extensive editing. If you’re looking for high-quality transcripts, this is NOT the service for you. As a freelancer, the pay is shockingly low. They expect you to do a lot of work for just a few cents per minute of audio, and the files are often full of background noise or difficult accents. On top of that, their review system is inconsistent, and they reject work unfairly, making it hard to earn anything at all. Customer support is another issue. They take forever to respond, and when they do, their answers are vague and unhelpful. Overall, Scribie is frustrating to use, whether you’re a customer or a freelancer. There are much better transcription services out there—don’t waste your time or money on this one. Let me know if you want it tweaked to sound more personal!
