Overall experience with renting car was smooth! Car was in good condition, local agent auto troci car rental was very helpful and honest price with the car.. I have picked and dropped the car in Tirana Airport which was very comfortable and instructions were given clear before hand.

The car was not in a condition that…

The car was not in a condition that made us feel 100% confident that we would reach our destination safely. The vehicle was provided to us with an empty fuel tank. Only one of the two side doors could be opened, as a damaged interior panel was obstructing the other door. We were also not given any instructions on how to open the trunk. Even the gentleman who handed over the car to us was unable to explain how it worked, and we eventually had to figure it out ourselves. Overall, the condition of the vehicle was not satisfactory and raised serious concerns about our safety during the journey.

We will follow this matter closely and verify the details with the rental provider, including the fuel level, the damaged side-door panel, and the issue with the trunk. Based on our findings, we will take the appropriate action with the provider if necessary. We do wish you had contacted our support team during the rental period. Had we been made aware of these issues at the time, we would have had the opportunity to assist you and, where possible, find a solution while the rental was ongoing. Vehículo inseguro y mala entrega

We rented the car as soon as we arrived in Albania. It was nighttime, and initially, the service was very friendly. The next morning, we woke up to find one of the tires was flat. After checking, we saw that several other tires were in bad shape. The rental company sent us to a garage, but they only fixed the flat tire. We continued our road trip through Albania with a 5-year-old child, and a loud noise began that plagued us throughout our vacation. The car hadn't been inspected and wasn't in safe condition to be rented. Upon returning the car, they demanded money to cover cleaning costs and an alleged fine they had received. Unacceptable.

At RentX, we work with more than 120 rental companies and have established rules and standards for all providers listed on our platform. We take feedback regarding vehicle condition and customer service seriously. After receiving your review, we immediately contacted the rental provider involved in your reservation to review the circumstances. They provided us with the vehicle’s most recent technical inspection certificate, which had been issued five months before your rental and was within the applicable inspection period. Regarding the additional charges mentioned in your review, we would also like to clarify the following: - Cleaning: The vehicle was provided to you clean, and, as stated in the rental terms, customers are expected to return the vehicle in a reasonably clean condition. The cleaning charge was therefore related to the vehicle’s condition upon return and was not an arbitrary charge. Importantly, despite the charge being communicated to you, you did not actually pay the cleaning fee. - Fine: The rental provider shared the official fine issued by the Albanian authorities with us. The fine included a timestamp corresponding to the period of your rental, and therefore the charge was attributed to your reservation. This fine was also not paid by you. We are, however, sorry that you experienced a flat tire and subsequently noticed issues with the vehicle during your trip. Had you contacted RentX Support while the rental was ongoing, we would have had the opportunity to investigate the situation and assist you at the time. We believe that reviews are most useful when they reflect the complete circumstances of a rental, and we have provided these clarifications so that future readers can have the full picture.
