I am leaving this review to demand immediate administrative review and formal closure of my account. Following a disputed $350 negative balance—which was the result of an unauthorized transaction that PayPal refused to properly investigate and I informed the company of the error within minutes—PayPal has permanently locked my account and refused my explicit requests to close it. PayPal's policy of forcing accounts to remain active under disputed negative balances, while simultaneously handing accounts over to collection efforts for debts that have been written off internally, is an unreasonable operational practice. I have formally objected to the collections notices, documented the entire dispute history, and confirmed this balance is not a valid liability. I have been going through this since 2021, and even contacted as recently as August 2026 to see if we could come to an agreement to close the account permanently. Refusing a consumer’s right to permanently terminate their account and disassociate their personal data after exhausting all dispute resolution pathways is unacceptable. After PayPal experienced a data breach in 2022 (which would have been after this original incident occurred), my compromised personal details surfaced on the dark web per Tax Identity Shield, triggering persistent phishing attempts. I have fully documented this paper trail and am pursuing formal administrative escalations for unfair account maintenance practices.

Paypal takes your money when it doesn't belong to them. If you have a balance in your account and they feel like you were refunded too many times, they'll simply take the cash out, send you an email, and NEVER list a transaction on your account. Customer support isn't in America so you'll never be able to understand what they're saying. And YOU as the consumer have to perform all the steps and actions that THEY should be taking to confirm transactions are what they seem. Use your bank's transfer app or Zelle. Get away from Paypal because you'll just be paying them to steal from you.

Leider sehr schlechter Service
Leider sehr schlechter Service. Das Verhalten eines Mitarbeiters war unprofessionell und respektlos. Ich habe keinerlei Hilfe oder Unterstützung erhalten. Statt einer kundenorientierten Betreuung wurde ich unfreundlich behandelt. So ein Service ist enttäuschend und nicht akzeptabel. Ich kann dieses Unternehmen aufgrund meiner Erfahrung nicht empfehlen.

Invalid seller contact phone number
PayPal provides a number to contact the seller of an item in case you want to contact the seller. Seems to me PayPal doesn’t verify the phone number that the seller gives them because Number I had was no good and I contacted PayPal and asked them to verify and they said they’re not allowed to call. It is ridiculous. They don’t verify the numbers of the sellers so you can cancel and they can just give any number. PayPal seems to favor the seller.
