Expect unexpected charges and unprofessional staff!!!

Checked into the San Fransisco Park 55 hotel on the 8/8/26 for four nights. We had been on an 11 hour flight and were hoping for a smooth check in. Surprised to find we had to pay a $300 deposit x 2 but were told we had 2 rooms. I didn’t ask for it, nor did I question it. We were jet lagged and trusted the receptionist knew what she was doing. Fast forward the day after check out we have been billed for the second room! Did we ask for it? No we assumed they didn’t have a quadruple room and this was the best way they could accommodate us. Like I said, we trusted them they are the experts right? Wrong! We had a letter the night before check out to say the account had insufficient funds but when my husband checked with reception the staff member said “Don’t worry my colleague is stupid” I’m surprised at how unprofessional this hotel is. Expecting us to pay for their error. I was genuinely shocked before I wrote this review. Hilton your reviews are completely abysmal. Seriously, are you proud your customers are being treated so badly and think so little of your hotel and staff. Honestly you need to do better! Worst thing is we are meant to be going to their San Diego hotel next week as part of our big birthday celebration, I can honestly say I am not looking forward to it. Don’t book a stay here you will be paying a lot more than you expect!!! 😭

Hilton Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

Our reason for booking this Hotel was because it sold itself as a great family hotel with lots of entertainment, which is non existent. We had to go out of the Hotel for entertainment, entertainment that the staff at the Hotel seem to be very well informed about, because the are letting you know where you can go for some. Anyway this incurred expenses that we hadn't contemplated. Had we of known this we wouldn't have chosen this Hotel and I feel we shoud have been informed prior to our arrival. We were told that it was because of the circumstances, circumstances that did'nt seem to affect the rest of the Hotels in the area or Dubai in general. There are also no restrictions when travelling to Dubai. I'm not sure if it was due to the fact that the Hotel only had a 70% occupancy. The bucking bronco, in the Claw BBQ had a sign on it saying it was on holiday, it was for the duration of our stay. The Duddha roof top bar/restaurant was also closed. There was also another restaurant that was closed. In the main dinning area they had building going on so it was a little noisy sometimes. The breakfast and dinner buffet was very good indeed though it would of been nice to have show cooking to have something done on the grill. There was lots of foods in sauces. I did have an incident where I ordered Eggs Royal, the salmon was grey in colour so I didnt eat them. I did take a picture and informed a Duty Manager but no one got back to me about it. The Hotel advertises water sports but what it doesn't tell you is that none are done on the beach that they advertise, a beach that is half closed off too. So, to do any water sports you have to book through an agent and they come to pick you up and take you to another location. The berooms are very spacious and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. The staff in general are very polite, friendly, but nothing that you don't expect in a 5 star Hotel. The cleanliness is outstanding. The pool bar offers a wide range of cocktails, I seriously think that the alcohol is watered down, we thought the bar tender had mistaken our order and given us virgin cocktails. I have to say too that the prices are extremely high for everything. So overpriced. We ordered smoothies for the children, after serving it and they would throw the remainder down the sink instead of topping the glass up or even just putting it in smaller glass on the side, we did address this but they carried on doing it during the remainder of our stay. You are paying for it and just tipping it down the sink seems such a waste. The pool is way too small for such a big Hotel. We informed the Duty Manger Aynur Ismayilova of all these things, 2 days later she sent me a small message thanking me for my concerns but I actually don't think they are interested, they have your money so that's that. I've been back home a week and 2 day's ago I informed them that they still had a holding on my visa card of 3800€, yesterday finally it was cancelled but nobody has appologised. When checking out the night before I was informed that the holding fee on my card would be cancelled before I left and the receipt would be slipped under my door, when I woke there was nothing, I phoned an hour before I was due to leave and an hour and a half later I had to leave without it. When you are there no one is interested in any concerns that you have yet when you write something about them they are gratefull for your feedback and I see the same response everytime but to be honest they arent interested. I would never stay there again.

Do NOT PURCHASE a Hilton VIP package not patronize Hilton hotels it is a SCAM

I paid up all the fees and was told to start scheduling my vacations. A family crisis occurred and I couldn’t go on the trips. Hilton didn’t give a fig about my situation, they foreclosed my time share and refused to grant me the trips I had purchased. Hilton are scammers with business suits and a glitzy facade. How can you foreclose what I had totally paid for, and refused to grant my trips I guess I was supposed to leave my sick disabled mother and go take vacations. They didn’t try to work with me. After a presentation by mannequin looking sales representatives with plastic smiles for 2 boring hours. We were led basically to what was a bull pen and sent sales representatives out who practically hunted you down and said please just listen to our package deals. I tried to say no, and when I asked for the way out they hedged and started the pitch with me standing there subjected to high-pressure, long sales pitches that they do not take "no" for an answer. My instinct told me not sign the contract but I am like hey maybe I can use a couple of vacation. I was harassed and flat out hustled me. They have all these hidden restrictions, if you call them they bounce you around like a basketball. I was trying to communicate the situation about my mother’s illness and they just avoided me. Unfortunately, I found out customer service and experience that you receive at Hilton won’t be the same as HGV promotional presentations. HGV’s goal is to sell you on the timeshare package and use ANY excuse to renege despite. I used to love Hilton hotels but after this experience I will NEVER PATRONIZE the hotels again, and I advise no one else do so either unless you love your money stolen, and strategic ploys to undermine you and keep your money, they use high maintenance fees and another situation. They keep calling me telling me if I pay 199.00 I could rent my timeshares out for 17,000 to 25,000 because companies were willing to pay. If I don’t have a time share why are they constantly call me to rent mine out. Also, why do I have to pay to rent out my timeshare??? IT IS ALL A SCAM to get your hard earned money to benefit thugs in suits getting rich off your money So I kept calling, they only answered when I complained about them to BBB. And I was told rather coldly, I couldn’t get my money back nor go on any trips. So just took 2,000 dollars from me because of a situation that was totally unavailable and show no compassion, nor did they try to commit to the “excellent service” they provide. These promotional vacation packages have strict, rules that are not clear and when you try to get an understanding, they shut you down. and just a bunch of malarkey. I also found out Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV) and Hilton hotels are affiliated. They use that HGV program to find more idiots for them to get richer. I don’t care if these are two “separate “ entities. Hilton allows them to use their name to lure people in. You can not tell me Hilton and HGV are cohorts in crime. If you let scammers use your name it’s simple math both entities are scammers. I advise you to avoid both like I said unless you have free money to give away.

A gem of a find in central Birmingham

In a nutshell, the hotel, facilities and staff were excellent at the Hilton Garden Inn in Birmingham (UK) . My stay was memorable for all the right reasons & represented excellent value for money. Based on my stay, I have no reservations recommending this hotel to family/friends and I would happily return without hesitation. To understand my summary, a more detailed review is included below. This hotel is located in Brindley Square, less than 10 minutes casual stroll to the Utilita Arena. This hotel is known to be inclusive, and as my partner and I were attending a Peter Kay comedy show, we stayed here for one night in a King room. We booked direct with Hilton, which was quick, safe and easy and represented good value for money. Our reservation was confirmed by email, with a follow up email nearer the date of our arrival. It took around 15 minutes by taxi from Birmingham New Street and was easy to find using the directions provided. The hotel is located in a commercial area with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Security was low key and the large entrance to a fully staffed reception made the place feel safe. We don’t use the online check-in app, preferring to speak to reception who are a hive of local knowledge. In this instance that included 15% off drinks for attendee’s to Peter Kay’s show. Whilst the usual ‘thank you for being a valued Hilton Honour’s member’ was overlooked, we were provided with information about breakfast times and local amenities, which is always a nice touch. The signage to the bar/restaurant, lifts, stairs and rooms were clear and easy to follow. The room was well laid out, clean, with fresh bedding and large pillows and was nicely cooled by the air-con, which was much appreciated in the heatwave. The window was locked, overlooked the offices nearby and had blackout curtains. Storage included a wardrobe, shelving and a suitcase stand. A large screen TV is also included, along with tea & coffee making facilities, a small fridge, a safe, an ironing board and iron were also provided along with a sizeable desk to work from. The en-suite bathroom included a quiet extraction fan, was clean and bright with good quality towels. Also included were good quality complimentary toiletries and separate shelving. The water pressure was consistently good and took little time to warm up. We slept very well as much because the bed is massive and had a very comfortable mattress and of course air-con always helps. There was no hallway, or street noise and no light intrusion. The buffet breakfast consisted of hot and cold foods, along with pastries and cereals and at £13 plus change each, was considered good value for this price point of hotel. We arrived at 08:00 for breakfast, which seemed to be a wise choice, as pretty soon there was a queue for those who turned up later and had to wait for seating. Staff, were chatty, polite and knowledgeable throughout our stay and were a pleasure to interact with, thank you. There were no issues with our stay which is testament to the hard work that went in to making things happen without a hitch. Whilst there is a box to drop off they key-cards at check-out, we like to recognise the effort that’s gone into our stay and say thank you when handing keys in, which we did. Checking out was quick and bill was accurately made out with no surprises. We were not offered to store our luggage for collection later, but that’s a very minor observation. In summary, the hotel, facilities and staff were excellent. My stay was memorable for all the right reasons & represented excellent value for money. Based on my stay, I have no reservations recommending this hotel to family/friends and I would happily return without hesitation. My top tips: (1) There is a ‘Q’ car park nearby but if you can avoid driving in Birmingham, you’ll avoid the ULEZ charge. (2) The later you arrive for breakfast, the more likely you’ll have to wait to be seated, especially if there is an event at the nearby Utilita Arena.

6nights Feeling stressful during the…

6nights Feeling stressful during the stay in Lincoln Plaza Hotel at London, E14 9BN. I paid nearly £250–£300 per night, spending around £1,170 in total for a short stay (originally planned for 6 nights), expecting a comfortable and restful environment for my busy work week. Based on local reviews, I thought this was the best option in the area. It turned out to be the most disappointing and stressful hotel experience I have ever had. The root of this disaster was the Front Desk Manager, Nicole, who showed absolute contempt for guests, acted extremely unprofessionally, and consistently brought her personal emotions into her work. 1. Contradictory Promises & Blatant Lies About Room Transfers Day 1: Upon check-in, I requested a double bed. I was told none were available that day, but I could switch on a later date. I agreed. Day 2: In the morning, I informed the front desk that I had an important meeting and work to attend to. Staff assured me I could return in the evening to process the room move. Evening: When I returned, Nicole denied the agreement entirely, falsely claimed the hotel was fully booked, and rudely accused me of overstaying my previous room—directly contradicting what her colleague promised me earlier that day. 2. Poor Hygiene & Broken Facilities I was placed in a room where the air conditioning was completely broken. Furthermore, the light fixtures were covered in thick dust, and the ceiling was covered in visible champagne stains. A hotel should NEVER rent out a room that is not in good condition. It is utterly unacceptable that a paying guest was forced to endure unnecessary stress, waste valuable rest time, and deal with maintenance issues that should have been resolved before check-in. 3. Refusal of Service & Sudden "Magical" Room Availability When I reported the broken AC, Nicole refused to move me, repeatedly claiming "no rooms were available" and insisting on sending a technician instead of offering a proper solution. Only after I discussed the manager’s absurd behavior with the technician did Nicole suddenly claim that 2 or 3 rooms were suddenly "available" for me to change into. It is obvious her default response to any guest request is to obstruct and lie. 4. Unprofessional, Hostile, and Disrespectful Behavior When I reiterated my need for a quiet, functional room to rest during this short stay, Nicole responded with utter disrespect: She mockingly dismissed my room rate, stating, "Some people pay £500 a night," belittling the £250–£300 I was paying per night. She became overly emotional and hostile, even making an absurd comment asking if I wanted her to "go outside the hotel with me." For unknown reason. Unfortunately, the stay was completely ruined by the Duty Manager, Nicole. She abused her petty authority to repeatedly reject my basic requests, treated me with mockery and hostility, and displayed an arrogant attitude. She completely failed to address legitimate guest needs and proved herself utterly unfit for any front desk or managerial role. Conclusion A 4-star hotel should prioritize customer needs, basic hygiene, and professional service. No guest should ever have to bear the burden of internal mismanagement, dishonest behavior, and unnecessary emotional stress caused by hotel staff. Nicole created pointless conflict, ruined my stay and rest, and treated paying guests with disdain. I strongly advise anyone looking for a peaceful stay to avoid this hotel until management addresses their severe leadership flaws.
