Worst car rental experience PLEASE…

Worst car rental experience PLEASE AVOID Cargini We booked a car through Cargini for a one-week holiday in Greece, expecting a straightforward rental experience. Unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare. After just 30 minutes, the tire went flat. We had to wait 4 hours for a tow truck, and the spare wheel provided wasn’t even suitable for the vehicle. The tow truck driver also told us that the tire was already damaged. We had taken full insurance, so thankfully we didn’t have to pay for the tire issue. However, the problems didn’t stop there: the tire kept losing pressure, we had to check and refill it several times, and the tire pressure sensor wasn’t working. Five days later, despite barely using the car, the tire went flat again and we had to call another tow truck. We lost a huge amount of time and part of our holiday was ruined. What was particularly frustrating was the attitude of the staff. In our experience, they were unpleasant and manipulative, presenting things that appeared to be basic obligations ( such as arranging a taxi after leaving us on the side of the road) as if they were exceptional acts of kindness. Based on our experience, we strongly recommend avoiding Cargini. We would never rent from them again and would advise anyone planning a trip to Greece to think twice before giving them their money.

Extremely poor

Had to swap the car we originally had. It was a downgrade from what we'd paid. After driving it to the other side of the island, there was a really strong smell of fuel coming from the air con and it struggled with 1st gear. Contacted our broker who told us to speak to the local office, he wasn't happy. Told us it was our fault for not getting the right sized car and I was "too sensitive" to smells. No my friend, I may look dumb but I know what fuel smells like. No car should ever smell of fuel whilst driving. There was a mention from the broker of a partial refund. None of this was offered on changing the car. Cargini -Samos

ACHTUNG ABZOCKE! Wenn Sie nicht die "richtige" Kreditkarte haben, müssen Sie mindestens 14 € pro Tag - cash - bezahlen und sich die Worte anhören "Eigentlich kostet es noch mehr". Mit folgendem Widerspruch wird die Abzocke begründet: ZITAT: "ACCEPTED CARDS Accepted cards with the main driver's full name on them: Debit or Credit VISA or MasterCard Not Accepted Cards American Express Credit American Express Debit Maestro Someone else's card (including family members) Any virtual Cards/Banks (e.g. Revolut, Apple Pay, DKB, N26, Monzo, Wise, Easy Bank, Fortuneo etc..)!!! Diners Club Cash" Zitatende. Die 14€ pro Tag sollen dann für eine Versicherung für das Deposit??? sein, auf der Rechnung steht aber: "Full cover insurance included Glasses& Tyres in Case of Accident". Ich kann nur raten HÄNDE WEG! Ich habe eine physische VISA Karte einer deutschen Direktbank mit 5 Millionen Kunden vorgelegt, die seit 20 Jahren überall in Europa und Griechenland bei anderen Autovermietern reibungslos akzeptiert wurde.

We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify that our rental terms and conditions clearly specify the accepted and non-accepted payment cards, including the requirement that the payment card must be a physical card issued in the main driver's name. These conditions are made available to customers during the booking process and are also included in the booking confirmation. When a customer's payment card does not meet the stated requirements, an alternative option may be offered, where available, to allow the rental to proceed. In such cases, the purchase of additional coverage may be proposed in order to reduce or eliminate the security deposit requirement. This option is entirely intended to facilitate the rental and enable the customer to collect the vehicle despite not meeting the standard deposit terms. We would also like to clarify that the additional coverage and the security deposit are separate aspects of the rental agreement. Any optional coverage provided is explained at the rental desk before acceptance. Should you have any questions or require further clarification regarding the card requirements or the options offered at the time of rental, we would be more than happy to discuss your case directly at [email protected] and provide any additional information you may need.
