Scam and fraud!
Scam! Booking process designed to rob the client. When booking the car, I paid for a full period of five weeks nearly EUR1200 using debt card. When trying to pick up the car, I was told the company doesn’t accept debt card for EUR400 of deposit, only credit cards are acceptable. At the same place in Shiphol Airport other rent car companies accept debit cards for full payment including deposit with no problems, so I had to go to another desk and certainly paid ad hock a fortune for necessary entire rent time of a different available car. My booking was done less than 48 hours so even at the start straight after booking I had no chance to cancel this reservation! I even did not touch neither see Alamo's car but these bastards brazenly robbed me of my entire amount and ignored my numerous escalations, citing their rental policy, which clearly states that their Terms and Conditions specifically state that credit cards only are accepted for security deposits. What arrogance and impudence! Avoid these thieves! I lost almost 1200 EUR for nothing!

Unfair claim rejection under "Super Cover" – Towing costs denied based on abusive terms
I booked a car rental through Auto Europe and paid extra for their premium "Super Cover / Excess Refund" protection, which explicitly states that roadside assistance and towing costs are covered. During the rental, the vehicle became immobilized due to an issue with the keys. The local supplier (Alamo) resolved the operational issue and issued TWO completely separate invoices, clearly distinguishing the services: 1. One invoice for the physical key replacement (CHF 437.51). 2. A completely independent invoice for the cross-border towing and roadside assistance (CHF 893.26). While I accept that the hardware of the key itself is a standard exclusion in the policy, Auto Europe’s Customer Service (Case #5954275) issued a final rejection denying the refund for the towing service as well. They are using an abusive "cause-and-effect" interpretation, claiming that because the immobilization was caused by a key, the covered towing service is automatically invalidated. This is a clear breach of contract. Vehicle immobilization and roadside logistics are covered independent events under the Super Cover policy I paid for. Due to their complete lack of flexibility and unfair rejection, I have formally escalated this case to the European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net) against Auto Europe Deutschland GmbH. If you buy their "Super Cover", be prepared for them to look for any loophole to avoid paying when an actual emergency happens.
