Impossible de contacter téléphoniquement une agence sur TOUT le territoire national, que ça soit via le standard ou via le téléphone particulier de l'agence. Une vraie honte!

am extremely disappointed with my experience with Alamo Rent A Car. After returning our rental car in Bordeaux, France, Alamo charged my credit card approximately $5,500 for alleged damage that we did NOT cause. What is especially concerning is the lack of documentation and transparency surrounding this charge. When we returned the vehicle, we had someone inspect the car with us. We were not presented with a damage report, we were not asked to sign anything acknowledging damage. Despite this, Alamo subsequently charged my credit card thousands of dollars. I have repeatedly asked Alamo to provide documentation proving that this damage occurred during our rental, including a proper inspection/damage report and an itemized explanation of the $5,500 charge. I have not been provided with the documentation I believe should support such a significant charge. I absolutely did not cause the damage Alamo is claiming responsibility for. A rental company should have clear procedures for documenting the condition of a vehicle before and after a rental. Customers should not be faced with a $5,500 charge for alleged damage without clear evidence and documentation. I am disputing this charge with my credit card company and continuing to request documentation from Alamo. My advice: If you rent from Alamo, photograph and video every inch of the vehicle before driving away and again when you return it. Document everything. Do not assume that the rental company’s inspection process will protect you. This has been an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience, and I would not recommend Alamo based on how this matter has been handled.

High farce. Please read before considering hiring from Alamo Nice (ditto Enterprise - the same group). After paying for a 9 seater automatic Renault a few weeks in advance, specifying our terminal and completing in advance the check in details to save time (note - it doesn't), we waited 20+ mins in a queue to be told they didn't have an automatic, it was at the other terminal. Told it would be quicker to catch the connecting shuttle to the other terminal than wait for them to drive it over so off we went with a huge bike box and loads of luggage in the blistering heat. The actual train journey was 5 mins, the walk from there wasn't... Greeted by bedlam at the other terminal, huge queues, and a stroppy, borderline aggressive male staff member manning the queues who told us there wasn't a 9 seater ready for us to pick up, they were being cleaned etc and we'd have to wait behind other people who were waiting for their cars. Told to join another queue, only to then be told by a different assistant that we had again been misinformed, there wasn't a 9 seater Renault there at all, manual or auto. They were all out on hire. Despite us having booked and paid for it some weeks ago. After a bit of back on forth we were given an upgrade, a 9 seater Vito. Alamo get the one star for that. The Mercedes then developed a mechanical issue (fyi it's common for Vitos to develop suspension issues) which resulted in it being unroadworthy. Alamo arranged for Mercedes to come to our villa to fix or tow. Friday afternoon so of course it was towed. We asked that rather than provide another car (as we were leaving the next day) if Alamo could arrange two taxis to take us to the airport the following morning. After about 30 minutes of trying to speak to someone this was sorted. So far, so good. Four taxis then turned up, cue an argument over who was taking us, and another two called up my husband to say they were on their way! A few days after our return home Enterprise/Alamo emailed me saying we hadn't dropped the car off at the airport... After explaining no, they had arranged for Mercedes to collect it etc, I got a subsequent email asking if I knew where it had been taken, which city or garage!!! Obviously we didn't, but sent them a pic of it on the back of the pickup going up the hill. The following week I then got an email informing me that they had located the vehicle, and by the way we had put on an additional 6218 miles and consequently owed them 5,198 Euros in additional charge. Given our villa was only 38km from the airport I suggested to them that they might want to have a think about the possibly that we drove an average of 444km every single day of our holiday... Also, the fact that we had taken a photo of the mileage just before it was towed made it pretty clear the mileage they recoded was from a different car. Now, endless ineptitude, a mechanical and even the rudeness of staff I can cope with, however, Enterprise/Alamo had actually already taken the payment of nearly £4500 for the mileage error from our credit card without waiting for our response. After emailing back, TWO days later the manager (Wissam Bensalem) emailed me apologising profusely saying he had fully refunded me, and to email him personally should I have any more issues. Except that we weren't fully refunded, the refund was short by £97. Despite two emails suddenly Wissam is no longer responding. So I have referred the issue to the ECC (deal with cross border disputes) and will also be complaining to the BVRLA/ECRCS once the 8 week limit is reached.
