Diabolical and Dishonest
So far, my experience with this company has been absolutely beyond diabolical. They have taken all my money and delivered nothing of significance in almost 5 months, of a project that they stated would take 16-18 weeks. Non-existent progress and no updates, ignoring and avoiding communication from ourselves. This is an honest and genuine review, and I wish I didn’t have to leave this, but I think it is important to relay my experience to prevent this happening to other unsuspecting people. I do hope that they turn things around so I can delete or change my review and rating, but judging by the last few months, I won’t be holding my breath. A representative of theirs (named James Wilson - possibly a stage name) reached out to me following me posting an advert on bark.com. He was very attentive and intuitive, reaching out repeatedly to secure the business, saying the right things and selling me the dream in the sense that they would deliver our requirements in a timely manner. James stated that because they were offering me the service at a special discount deal of £5500, they required full payment to be cleared upfront prior to the commencement of the project. Because James had been so understanding, clear, and transparent, I truly believed that this team would work with me to deliver my visions in a timely manner, and mistakenly cleared this fee, subsequently looking forward to working with them. For me, it was important that the company was London based, as that was where I am from, and that we could meet with accountable individuals-I was assured that this would be possible, until I paid the fee, after which I was told that this would not be possible, most likely because they are based abroad and therefore feel that they have no accountability or responsibility towards their paying customers, as there is no comeback for them personally. Once the payment was made in full, this company started behaving like builders and other shady tradesmen do when they have all of the client’s money as well as many other projects on at the same time - communication became extremely poor, every time I was chasing and begging for updates regarding progress and overall delivery, I was told that they would revert to me with an update, which I would then have to chase, and received none. When I threatened to terminate the project and request a refund for 90% of my initial Fee (as they had only done around 10% of the work 4 months into the project, by which time the initial agreement stated it would be finished and delivered, which involved only provision of a stock template of our website and branding), a senior manager told me that the project was 75 to 80% complete, yet he still could not provide me with the work that had been carried out. I am here one whole month later after a crucial crossroads meeting, with no progress since the meeting and no closer to anymore regarding delivery. So difficult to get hold of anyone in a meaningful manner other than them stating they’ll try and get an update from their team, and absolutely impossible to get any update, other than “let me get back to you with an update”. Unless I receive some solid communication and information from the team, I will be terminating the project with them, and requesting a refund - this will likely not be provided as they will try to be dishonest and swindle me, which will then result in me having a file a small claims against the company. At the current stage, even though they were very nice people and personally pleasant to deal with, Steve, James and Samantha are all ignoring my requests for an update on progress and deliver of the project, which is absolutely beyond unacceptable, when all I’m asking for is for delivery of the project that was agreed from the start, or discussion regarding a fair partial refund if they are unable to deliver my project. I an so disappointed in this company, and they continue to let me down so severely. Unless there is a change in attitude, I would not recommend them under any circumstances unless you wish to be swindled for your money, and waste precious time. It has gotten to a point where even if I do not get my money back, it would still be more profitable for me to accept the £5500 loss (as they will likely dishonestly keep my project investment until I am successful in a court claim and end up with a CCJ against the company and its director; who I will also go after personally in court, as he is likely the ultimate accountable individual who my £5500 has gone to), and move onto another company, so that they can deliver my project and we can providing for our customers sooner. I will provide honest reply if they end up responding to me, as opposed to preferably just rightfully fulfilling the obligation that was mutually agreed .

My experience with James and the staff…
My experience with James and the staff of Social Turbo has been nothing less than amazing. Total redesign of my company website and the whole experience has been great. They simply just get stuff done often the same day. I have already started recommending them to companies I deal with. I will also be using them for all my web/seo and even business stationary in the future. Highly recommended.
