I have never received anything so well…
I have never received anything so well packaged for transport - and that includes fragile items too! Box is very well made and was easy to fit. I made a template from cardboard to mark the hole drilling positions on the wall. The wall is roughcast so I made some spacers to prevent the back of the box being damaged by the uneven surface. Out postie prefers this box to the old letter plate. I would have liked the flap to be self-closing, but I can see the advantages to both philosophies. It's not been left open yet!

XL parcel box is good product but can be tricky to install
We have an XL parcel box which is a good product but can be tricky to install as the installation bolts are difficult to get lined up properly and can be awkward to access.

Large Smart Parcel Box
The “Smart Parcel Box® Large Front & Rear Access Dark Grey” was delivered in good time and was extremely well packaged. The courier company were very good and kept us well informed/updated with the delivery time. The box itself is well made and works well. It is certainly obtrusive and the postal service personnel should have no problem noticing it!! The paint/coating is very thin and I found it scratched easily during fitting up against a brick wall, I had to touch up a number of scratches on the rear before the final fitting. Also, the locks are a bit on the flimsy side which lets the overall package down a bit. Time will tell how well the very thin paint/coating stands up to the elements. UPDATE 11th August 2026. I am finding that the grey coated box gets to over 40 centigrade on a sunny day like today ( air temp is 25 C ). If I had known this, I would have gone for the white one as my old box was white and didn't have any high temperature problems. I get my repeat medication posted to me and the high temperatures inside the dark box will be detrimental to the meds as the recommended storage temperature is below 25°C. This is not a problem with the design of the box, only my colour choice!!
