Robbed in the middle of our holidays in the villa!!!
Could have been a 5 ⭐️ but it will be 1 ⭐️ Eugenia and the team have been great to organize the trip. (Private chef, transfers, boat day!!) Always responsive on WhatsApp The house was rather new and modern. The WiFi rather average but it’s Sicily and the pool a bit small for 10. BUT safety became a big issue. there was no safe in the house nor CCTV. Given the remote location, I never thought this could have happened. we have been robbed by the cleaning staff most probably which ruined our holidays. Having a safe is the absolute bare minimum 3000 euros cash missing but most importantly travel documents which cost additional money and a lot of worries and stress to organize the return for some of us. For this kind of rental prices, it is unconceivable!!! It is supposed to be luxury but it was definitely not. We will never go back to Sicily and probably Italy

The Villa we rented was not luxury….
Here is a copy of a letter that was written to Sicily Luxury Villas on May 14 following our 10-day stay at Villa Cariddi. Sicily Luxury Villas acknowledged receiving my email but have not replied to one of our concerns. Dear Ottavia, I spoke with your colleague Giulia regarding our recent stay at Villa Cariddi, and she advised me that it would be best to direct all feedback to you. Firstly, I would like to say that Rosa, who acted as housekeeper/manager during our stay, was terrific. Despite some language barriers — with only one member of our group speaking reasonable Italian — we were able to communicate well enough, and she was always helpful and pleasant. The local people and businesses we encountered were also warm, welcoming, and a pleasure to deal with. The car delivery service was also excellent and greatly appreciated. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms functional, although I would not describe them as luxurious. Unfortunately, there were a number of significant issues with the property that I cannot overlook. For clarity, I have listed them below: * We had no hot water until day three. Guests were unable to shower comfortably as the water was freezing cold. Apparently this was due to the gas being empty (something that I thought would have been the most basic thing to check before guests arrive especially when they are paying a large amount of money to stay) * There was no heating until day three, despite the weather being quite chilly, and only after I contacted management. * The stove could not be used as there was no gas supply until day three, again after I contacted management. * The oven did not function until day four. * The ice machine was not operational until day three. * Although you were aware we were a group of sixteen people, there were not even sixteen knives available for dining until we requested more. An additional six knives only appeared on the final day. * There was only one kitchen knife suitable for food preparation, and it was completely blunt. * The toilet in the southernmost top-floor bedroom did not work for the entirety of our ten-day stay, despite repeated requests for repair. The guests occupying that room were forced to use a bathroom at the opposite end of the villa. * We were advised by the owner not to use the elevator because it frequently breaks down. We only used it twice — once upon arrival to move luggage upstairs and once on departure. This was particularly problematic as one guest in our group was unable to manage stairs and was effectively confined to the middle level for the duration of the stay. I would also like to comment on the design and practicality of the villa itself. * The kitchen being located on the lowest level is highly impractical. We were constantly moving food and drinks up and down stairs, none of which had handrails. It was fortunate that nobody fell. There were several feral cats that constantly roamed the property. The kitchen door had no closing mechanism and we had to use a piece of string to tie it back each time we went in and out of the kitchen. The cats would constantly raid the rubbish and one day got into the kitchen and raided the bin inside. * The upstairs kitchenette was extremely small, equipped only with a bar fridge, and really only functional for one person at a time. Given that the dining area was upstairs, this should have been the natural gathering point for meals, but the kitchenette was simply inadequate. It was also cluttered with decorative and unused items covered in dust. * The upstairs lounge area was too small to comfortably accommodate our group together. * When we gathered socially, we were generally forced to sit outside on the northern side of the villa, but this area was often far too windy to enjoy comfortably. * The pool, while visually stunning and blessed with an extraordinary view, was extremely cold. We would happily have paid additional money to heat it, but this was apparently not even an option, which was disappointing. In conclusion, I do not believe Villa Cariddi can currently be described as a luxury property. I have operated a luxury travel business for more than twenty-two years and have extensive experience with luxury accommodation standards and guest expectations. If Villa Cariddi is to remain competitive as a luxury stay, the owners must invest significantly in updating and properly maintaining the property for today’s luxury traveller. After all, your company is called Sicily Luxury Villas, and unfortunately Villa Cariddi does not presently reflect that standard. I’m surprised this property has made your list or is it possible that no-one from your company even inspected it? This trip was intended to be a special celebration for two 60th birthdays, and sadly the overall feeling was one of disappointment.

We spent a wonderful week at this…
We spent a wonderful week at this beautiful villa with a pool in Cefalù, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. I stayed there with my family (my brother, my mother, and my son) and we all felt completely at home from the moment we arrived. The villa itself is spacious, perfectly clean, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The pool was fantastic and provided hours of fun and relaxation for everyone. We especially loved the outdoor spaces and the stunning views of the surrounding area. The location is perfect - peaceful and private for when you just want to unwind. The owner Silvio is truly a very kind, warm person, very helpful in all ways and the communication with him is extremely fast. I highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a special place to stay in Sicily. We created wonderful memories here and can’t wait to come back. Thank you for such a fantastic stay!

Outstanding, responsive, knowledgeable service!
The team at Sicily Luxury Villas, including Ottavia and Giulia, were hugely helping in enabling us to select a wonderful home for a week-long stay that matched our family’s needs. They advised us on location and specific characteristics of the place we chose. They ensured that it was immaculately clean and responded to anything we needed throughout our stay. Their personalized concierge service for customers enabled us to plan a wide range of delightful activities, including a superb chef for an in-home Sicilian cooking lesson, an expert guide for historic sites and local markets, and easy access to a Mt. Etna tour. They also advised us and helped make reservations at excellent local restaurants and facilitated our car rental, meeting us at the airport with the keys and facilitating fast drop off when we returned the vehicle at a different airport. All in all, the Sicily Luxury Villas team was A+, and we definitely recommend working with them if you are looking for outstanding service from a sophisticated and experienced local company.
