I bought a dress from Doen to wear for my wedding weekend last year but did not end up wearing it. I decided to try and let another human wear it by selling it on a reselling app. After the sale had gone through, and the buyer was already happy, Doen had their intellectual property lawyer- ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PLANET- hunt me down and get me permanently banned and blocked from reselling or buying second hand again. The brand go on about “being sustainable,” but clearly they would rather their clothing rot down with some plastics in a landfill somewhere rather than being part of the circular economy. Shame on Doen for hunting and hurting their own customers. I have since found out I am pregnant and would have loved to buy second hand for myself and my baby BUT I CANT BECAUSE OF DOEN. I have been told the only way to get unblocked is to start legal proceedings 5000 miles away directly with Doen, something in my current state I do not feel prepared to do. So, only buy from Doen if you feel comfortable throwing their clothes into landfill to contribute to the rotting of our planet- or unless you are 100% certain you want to wear their clothing UNTIL YOU DIE IN IT. And heaven forbid you try and give their clothing to a charity shop eventually, they will likely try to have that charity shut down.

Order #1192645 I ordered a sweater I had been looking at since it first released and had been waiting for it to come back into stock for almost a year. I signed up for a notification and purchased it immediately when I received the restock alert. Received a confirmation email. Five days passed before I got cancelation notice. This was my first purchase with Doen, and I have never experienced an order being cancelled after receiving an order confirmation. A 'small' gesture of compensation does not really reflect the disappointment of waiting a year for an item to return, finally securing it, and then losing it due to an issue on your side. What makes this even more frustrating is that the sweater was also available on Net-a-Porter when I placed my order. I chose to purchase directly from your website, trusting that my confirmed order would be fulfilled. By the time I discovered the cancellation, it was sold out there as well. I now feel like I missed out twice because I trusted a confirmed order. Unfortunately, this experience has seriously affected my confidence in ordering directly from you again. I appreciate the gesture offered, but I have to be honest that it felt somewhat dismissive given the circumstances. After waiting almost a year, acting immediately on a restock notification, and trusting a confirmed order, the disappointment was not just about the item — it was about the loss of trust in the purchasing experience. The compensation offered did not feel reflective of that.

I've admired DOEN for a long time, so it's genuinely disappointing to write this. I received a cardigan (order #1153416) with a faulty button on the back that had snapped. I contacted customer service over a month ago with photos of the damage and have not received a single reply. To make matters worse, the only returns option on their website (even for faulty items) is to purchase a label for $39 USD. As an Australian customer that's around $60 AUD, which I don't think is fair to charge when the product arrived damaged. All I asked for was a free returns label or a partial refund, both completely reasonable requests for a faulty item, and I've heard nothing. The lack of response and the expectation that customers cover return costs for manufacturing faults is really poor, especially at this price point. I'd encourage international shoppers in particular to be aware of this before purchasing.

I ordered the Henri top and while the style is beautiful, the quality is subpar. The arms stretched out and lost their shape after only 2 seasons of wear. I expect a $250 blouse to last longer than that. I reached out to the company and they said there was nothing to be done. Won’t buy from them again.

Auch nicht für Geld. Unclaimed ist fair. Claimed gibt das Mikrofon — nicht den Radiergummi.
