I coach and edit academic writing, mostly for online doctoral students. The document I got at the last stages was a short quantitative one and thankfully only had seven pages of references. Almost ALL of them were fake or inaccurate, and most maddening of all, had doi's that led to completely unrelated articles once I checked in the library of the school in which I've been an English adjunct for 33 years! What an academic disaster this would have been for the doctoral candidate had I not picked it up. I had to fix all the references (taking about 7 hours) and look up some more with more up-to-date research. Stay away from Scite if you value academic integrity or the stability of your present job or future positions. Can you even imagine the consequences for a dissertation with made up or inaccurate references throughout once it is found out?

Scientific research, unlike other AIs, completely relies on real scientific material. However, uploading articles for inspection requires quite laborious work. But it is more trustworthy than other AIs, and this reliability is the most important feature for me as an academic. The MCP feature is also another positive aspect. But still, the language understanding interface should be improved so that many other nationals, whose English is their second language, can have some communication problems.

A Must-Have Tool for Evidence-Based Research
