So easy to weaponise reporting system but won't do things to problematic users
in 10 years of playing Roblox(joined in 2016, same account), the reporting system is so weaponised very easily. First second I joined a game with my 10 year old user name containing "YT" and someone came up to me randomly under a second I joined, that person said "haha get banned"(knew reporting flaw), reported me immediately and got my account in warning instead of offering username change first. It's extremely ridiculous that players in Roblox simply cannot mind their own business and go on power tripping on ppl who joined the game under a minute. BUT im more disappointed on how Roblox's AI put account on warning instead of offering username change immediately. in 2016(time I joined Roblox) it was peaceful, not problematic, reporting/modernation system wasnt very weaponised as today(10 years later). AND the fact that actual pedos and troublemakers do not get enforcement actions against them while trouble makers get to weaponise Roblox AI moderation and took enforcement action immediately.

I genuinely love playing Roblox, but I’ve heard about many negative experiences on the platform. I’m 14 years old, and my parents have always set strict boundaries: I’m not allowed to chat with anyone online, not even my real-life friends, and I can only add school friends. While I haven’t personally encountered any dangerous situations, I know that others have faced serious issues, including encounters with predators. To parents: It’s so important to set clear, strict rules for your kids’ online gaming. Supervise their accounts, limit their interactions, and regularly talk with them about online safety. These precautions make a real difference. To Roblox: Please take stronger action to remove predators from your platform. It’s not enough to rely on parental controls—robust moderation and better reporting systems are needed. Additional Points: - Roblox should improve education for both parents and kids on internet safety and privacy. - Stronger age verification could help keep younger users safer. - There should be faster responses to reports of inappropriate behavior. - Community moderators should be more visible and active in public spaces on the app. - Roblox could provide more resources for parents to understand the risks and set up protections. - Clearer guidelines for acceptable behavior would help set expectations for all users. - The platform should celebrate and promote positive, safe community experiences. - Listening to user feedback and making safety updates regularly is crucial for trust.
