I purchased the complete package from Options Income Academy, and it's been the best investment I've made with any trading platform. Steve stands out in two ways. First, he can genuinely teach. I've been through his butterfly classes, his calendar classes, and his flyagonal classes, and all three are excellent. He explains things clearly and never skips the why. The butterfly classes showed me how a position is actually built and where the risk really sits. The calendar classes are what finally made time value click for me. And the flyagonal classes have been the game changer it's the piece I use the most, and it gave me a repeatable process instead of guessing. Second — and this is what you don't get on most platforms — the access. Steve is there, and he responds. Good trading days and bad ones, he's a hundred percent transparent. You see what works and what doesn't, and it feels like he's in the market with you the whole time rather than handing you a video and disappearing. If you want to learn the mechanics instead of chasing signals, this is the right place.

The Flyagonal strategy is very complex, frustrating and unprofitable.

The marketing videos make the Flyagonal strategy sound simple and profitable, but it's actually very complex, frustrating and unprofitable. After 2 months of trading this strategy, I have executed 7 of the alerted trades and lost money on 6 of the 7 trades. I could not enter 2 other trades because I was working. I have stopped entering the alerted trades so I can stop the bleeding. The strategy is complex (6-8 legs) and therefore almost all of the entries require 1-2 adjustments (2-3 tries) to get filled, just to enter the trade. Then when trades go against you, you have to adjust them again. The adjustments sometimes take multiple tries to execute. The same goes for the exits, they require 1-2 adjustments (2-3 tries) just to exit the trade. I can't constantly monitor whether the entries or exits are filled and adjust them multiple times on both entry and exit. The timing of the entries, adjustments and exits is crucial to the profitability of this strategy.

First, on the suggestion that I delete critical comments: I'd encourage anyone to scroll the comments on my YouTube channel and judge for themselves. Pointed criticism and tough questions are all over it, much of it with my replies underneath — engaging that is the whole point of what I do. In fact, your own original comment is still sitting right there on my channel today. YouTube's own systems automatically filter and hold some comments, which no creator controls, but removing honest feedback has never been how I operate. The Flyagonal is a defined-risk, multi-leg options strategy. It is not marketed as simple — it requires a working knowledge of calendars, diagonals, and broken wing butterflies, which is clearly stated as a prerequisite in the course description. For traders who have that foundation and take the time to learn the structure, it has produced strong, documented results over time. What is also true is that the past two months have been one of the most challenging stretches in recent memory for any theta-positive, delta-neutral strategy — not just the Flyagonal, but condors, butterflies, and calendars across the board. The S&P 500 gained roughly 15% in that same two-month window, which is a historically significant and unusual move. No range-bound strategy is designed to thrive in that environment, and I have said exactly that publicly on my YouTube channel every single week. There is no mystery here and nothing hidden. I also want to address the claim that the Flyagonal is an unprofitable strategy — that is simply not accurate. John has access to the complete trade history and performance data inside the alert service. The documented results across the full trade history tell a very different story, and that includes transparently reporting the recent losing trades as well. Furthermore, drawing a conclusion about a strategy's profitability from seven trades during one of the most extreme two-month market runs in recent history is not a statistically valid basis for that judgment, and most experienced traders will recognize that immediately. In the same period John was trading, our alert service recorded 3 losses out of 7 trades — more than our historical average, for sure, but consistent with what this market has done to every premium-selling approach. John has shared that he experienced 6 losses out of 7, and also that he was unable to enter several trades due to work schedule conflicts and that he had difficulty monitoring positions in real time. The Flyagonal does require attention at entry and a twice daily check-in during management — that is accurate and also disclosed in all promotional materials, and it is also why the course covers variable trades such as longer days-to-expiration approaches specifically designed for traders who cannot monitor positions daily. The alert service exists as a live learning tool, not a signal service to follow blindly and mechanically. The goal of the alerts has always been for members to learn the strategy deeply enough to trade it independently, on their own schedule, with full confidence in the structure. I am sorry this experience did not work out as John had hoped, but the results he describes reflect a combination of an extraordinarily difficult market environment and execution challenges that the course material is specifically designed to help traders overcome — by using alternate variations and DTEs for the strategy. The training that finally paid for itself

I found Steve and his OIA while looking for quality options training. I already knew the basics, using cash secured puts, covered calls, and LEAPS to support my active portfolio management. What I wanted was a separate options only bucket to lift my annual return. I took the full package. I started with Options Trading for Beginners, then moved to the Deep Dive Butterfly and Deep Dive Calendars/Diagonals courses, and recently finished Deep Dive Flyagonal. Over the past four months, the courses and Steve's Options Income Alert service have changed how I understand options and what I expect from the markets. The courses are well structured, and Steve answers every question quickly. I have learned more from following his live trades and talking with him than from the training on its own. The best part: the first two live trades I opened, a FlyB and a FlyD, already paid back my investment. I now plan to make Flyagonals the main driver of my options income. I have spent thousands of dollars on training over the last ten years. What set OIA apart is that it took me from a beginner to a trader with a real plan. Excellent course

I have been trading for over 15 years now. Moved from day trading small caps to large caps for the first 5 years. Then started the options education with TD Ameritrade with their excellent “coaches” and it was fine with acceptable performance. I learned the basics; verticals, diagonals, butterflies, condors, synthetics, etc.. I first started to follow Steve a few years ago on his contribution for OptionStrat. I followed his weekly reviews as well as his trade ideas posts and learned a lot from him. The flyagonal strategy made me nervous at first but last month I decided to pay for the course and plunged. Finished it today. The course is simple to follow, logical, clearly illustrated and it covers almost any question one could raise. The Alert Service he provides is also clearly laid out and will only make sense when the entire course is covered. I paper traded last month’s trades and it is clear that the win rate will be improved compared to my previous performance. I look forward to having a SWAN (Sleep Well At Night) experience with the SPX flyD strategy with few daily adjustments at the end of each trading day. I highly recommend the courses for anyone seeking a reputable trader offering a solid strategy that has been proven and tested out. Another point worth mentioning, Steve is very quick at responding to any email or query.

Steve is a great teacher and very responsive but…

Steve is a great teacher and very responsive. His FlyD trade was a stroke of genius. The problem is implementing it using Option Traders Assistant. That platform is the only one that I know of that allows opening an 8 legged trade with a one button click. But OTA's UI, while loaded with bells and whistles, is not very intuitive. In my opinion, it needs a lot more work in order to make Steve's trades easier to implement. That's the only reason for my 4 star rating...otherwise Steve's program and teaching are 5 star all the way.
