I went for one week on an amazing boat…

I went for one week on an amazing boat with Nomicos and had the best time. The service was wonderful and we felt taken care of the whole time. Spacious and clean cabins with a well appointed kitchen. I couldn’t recommend Nomicos more!

Vorsicht bei der Übernahme -Be careful when taking over the boat

Obwohl das gecharterte Boot erst ein Jahr alt war, stellte die Charterfirma ein Beiboot mit einer dünnen, alten Festmacherleine zur Verfügung (meiner Meinung nach zu dünn und daher für diesen Zweck ungeeignet). Während das Beiboot in einer sehr ruhigen, fast windstillen Nacht im Wasser lag und am Hauptboot festgemacht war, riss die Leine oder wurde mit einem Messer durchgewetzt, woraufhin das Beiboot davontrieb und verschwand. Es gab keine Möglichkeit, vorher eine stärkere Leine zu verwenden, da keine Ersatzleinen an Bord waren. Die Charterfirma lehnte jegliche Haftung ab, und wir mussten für das Beiboot aufkommen. Seid also vorsichtig mit dieser Charterfirma – jemand im Yachthafen erwähnte, dass dies Teil ihres Geschäftsmodells sein könnte. Although the chartered boat was only a year old, the charter company provided a dinghy with a thin, old mooring line (in my opinion, too thin and therefore unsuitable for this purpose). Whilst the dinghy was in the water on a very calm, almost windless night and moored to the main boat, the line snapped or was cut with a knife, whereupon the dinghy drifted away and disappeared. There was no way of using a stronger line beforehand, as there were no spare lines on board. The charter company denied any liability, and we had to pay for the dinghy. So be careful with this charter company – someone at the marina mentioned that this might be part of their business model.

Mr. Menghini, We take all clients' feedback seriously. The facts of this case are as follows: You chartered our Bavaria C46 sailing yacht, "Ianos", from 13.06.2026 to 20.06.2026, out of Preveza Marina. "Ianos" was built in 2025 and besides your charter, the yacht has completed another eight charters so far this season without complaint. During your checkout on 20.06.2026, our staff discovered that the yacht’s dinghy was missing. Although you verbally agreed to cover its cost, on 23.06.2026 you emailed us stating that you lost the dinghy on “a very calm night; the sea was completely still,” and alleged that Nomicos was responsible because “the line you had provided for it broke during the night.” As this claim was not supported by the circumstances, we rejected it. Unfortunately, you continued to send emails containing indirect threats, including: “I will have to post negative but truthful reviews on various online platforms – unfortunately for you, damage to your reputation can be done very quickly” (your email dated 30.06.2026), and “Unless I receive a credit of 200 euros within a week, I will leave a negative review (which cannot then be reversed) and take further action. The ball is in your court” (your email dated 18.07.2026). We are sorry to learn of your negative rating and can assure you that we consider constructive criticism seriously. Nomicos Yachts has been active in the yachting sector for 30 years. We manage a fleet of 70 yacht, 40 of which are owned. Moreover, we operate 5 charter bases in Greece and 1 base in Turkey. We are also official representatives of Bavaria and Beneteau Shipyards. As a result, we are constantly trying to improve our services to clients. Despite this commitment, we cannot overlook clear cases of damage or loss of equipment onboard one of our yachts, nor can we concede when a client makes threats.

Bad Experiences

Unfortunately, we too have had bad experiences with Nomicos Yachts. What was supposed to be a paid early check-in on Saturday noon turned into a delayed departure on Sunday due to two unresolved repairs. By Monday, we were no longer able to continue our journey because of another technical defect. The charter company denied any responsibility, kept the full deposit, and refused to provide a partial refund of the charter fee. On this basis, we cannot recommend Nomicos Yachts.

Mr Muschiol, Referring to your comments regarding your charter with our sailing boat Bavaria C46 “DIMOKRITOS”, built in 2025 (brand new), from Athens, Alimos Marina for the period 09.08.2025 to 16.08.2025, we would like to give our position: While, we recognise your dissatisfaction with your charter, we must emphasize that the damage caused cannot be blamed on us. Therefore, we do not accept your negative review in this case. It must be noted that after the damage occurred, we provided every possible support to you and your crew and handled the situation professionally. On Monday, 11.08.2025, you informed us that you had stopped in Ermioni, Thermissia due to an issue with the boat’s steering system. On Tuesday, 12.08.2025, our technician was dispatched to Ermioni, Thermissia to assess the situation. The technician determined that the Jefa Rudder system was significantly damaged and required a replacement part. Additionally, both carbon steering wheels were also found to be seriously damaged. As the necessary spare part was not immediately available, you remained on board “DIMOKRITOS” until Wednesday, 13.08.2025, using the vessel solely for accommodation. You departed the boat on Thursday morning, 14.08.2025. On the same day, skippers were sent to relocate the boat from Ermioni to Athens, Alimos Marina. You indicated your belief that the steering system damage resulted from a construction fault by Jefa Steerings and attributed the damage to the twin carbon steering wheels to the emergency tiller not being suitable for its purpose as provided by Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH. “DIMOKRITOS” and all essential equipment (sails, engine, anchor system, steering system, and hygiene) underwent inspections by Germanischer Lloyd’s in Germany and by INSB in Athens prior to charter commitments. Based on the above, we could not verify your claims regarding manufacturing faults. To re-itterate, “DIMOKRITOS” was, at the time, a brand new boat, fresh from the shipyard and newly inspected by naval surveyors. It does not stand to reason that a steering problem existed but rather it is more likely that the damage occurred during the charter. Regardless, of who caused the damage, we provided all possible help to you and your crew and were very accommodating. Nomicos Yachts has operated in the charter sector since 1996 and owns a fleet of approximately 32 sailing boats across six bases in Greece and Turkey (Athens, Lavrion, Corfu, Preveza, Kefalonia, and Göcek, Turkey). We are official dealers of Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH and Beneteau Yachts in Greece. Our goal is to provide quality sailing experiences and support to our charter clients, and we address technical issues as they arise. However, when significant damages occur, we must evaluate the situation carefully.
