Deceptive pricing but have sorted issues out
UPDATE 30TH Aug After some communication with news hosting and explaining my situation they've been very kind and have resolved my issues and help me out with the plan that suits me. The communication was kind and caring and one side managed to get hold of them they were very friendly and good to deal with. They offer a fantastic service when it's up and running I'm going to keep my review at 4 stars though because I still think the pricing is deceptive and is confusing to those that don't read everything or who have a mental disability and struggle to process information properly. I appreciate newshosting reaching out to me and resolving this in a kind caring and professional manner. I am extremely disappointed with Newshosting. The way their Unlimited plan is structured feels completely backwards and, in my opinion, extremely unfair to customers who cannot afford to pay for an entire year upfront. I was told the Unlimited plan came with up to 100 connections for $12.95 per month. Sounds good, right? What isn't nearly as appealing is discovering that this pricing is based on paying for a YEAR upfront. Because of significant ongoing health-related expenses, I simply cannot afford to hand over a full year's subscription in one payment. I therefore have to pay monthly. And this is where it gets ridiculous. I pay $14.95 EVERY MONTH — MORE than the advertised monthly equivalent — yet instead of receiving up to 100 connections, Newshosting cuts my account down to just 30. Let that sink in: PAY ANNUALLY: $12.95/month — up to 100 connections. PAY MONTHLY: $14.95/month — only 30 connections. PAY MORE. GET 70 FEWER CONNECTIONS. How is that reasonable? People who cannot afford a large upfront payment are effectively charged a higher monthly price while receiving a significantly reduced service. That is exactly the type of pricing structure that disadvantages people who have the least ability to pay upfront. I contacted Newshosting support specifically about this and explained my situation. The response? NOTHING. No explanation. No attempt to address my concerns. No meaningful customer service whatsoever. According to the email tracking information available to me, my messages have been opened/read, yet I still haven't received a response. That makes this considerably worse. It's one thing to have a pricing policy that I strongly disagree with; it's another thing entirely to seemingly ignore a paying customer when they challenge it. I'm not asking Newshosting for charity. I'm not asking for a free account. I'm already PAYING MORE PER MONTH. I simply want to know why someone paying $14.95 every month deserves only 30 connections while someone whose circumstances allow them to pay annually can effectively pay less per month and receive up to 100. A customer shouldn't be penalised simply because they need to pay monthly. For a company selling a premium Usenet service, I expected considerably better. Until Newshosting either addresses this pricing disparity or can provide a convincing explanation for it, I cannot recommend them. Newshosting: if you're happy to take my payment every month, at the very least have the courtesy to answer my emails. ⭐ 1 STAR.

Good service as long as you are a paying member. Once you try to close or cancel your account, certain problems occur. If you have two credit or debit cards, they will stop charges on the one you used to keep and close your account with, then sneak in and continue charging the other card without your knowledge! And getting refunds is impossible!
