Cosa rimane della gloriosa applicazione…
Cosa rimane della gloriosa applicazione NAVIONICS, di cui tanti si sono serviti per le loro navigazioni nei decenni passati? Un’app che era il punto di riferimento per ogni navigante, potevi acquistare l’applicazione e poi aggiornarla solo se lo desideravi. Sono stato cliente dal 2011, centinaia di euro lasciati nel corso degli anni per acquistare e ri-acquistare continuamente le stesse mappe del Mediterraneo. Con il passaggio a Garmin la situazione è diventata insostenibile essendo state stravolte tutte le regole che erano e sono tutt’oggi alla base della cartografia nautica, e cioè: se compri una carta nautica, la carta nautica rimane tua, se poi vuoi aggiornarla sono fatti tuoi… ma quello che è successo oggi, 1° agosto, supera ogni limite di decenza e di correttezza commerciale. Non appena scaduto l'abbonamento annuale (ieri 31 luglio) l'applicazione ha cancellato d'ufficio e da remoto dalla memoria del dispositivo TUTTA la cartografia che avevo regolarmente scaricato e pagato più volte (non solo gli aggiornamenti ma PROPRIO TUTTO). Ti ritrovi di punto in bianco in pozzetto con uno schermo giallo del tutto privo di dettagli, inutilizzabile per navigare. Invece di lasciarti le carte aggiornate (che d’altronde hai regolarmente pagato) come farebbe qualsiasi software serio o istituto idrografico, adesso ogni anno devi sostenere lo stesso costo per continuare ad avere la medesima carta nautica che già avevi pagato, applicando un vero e proprio "sequestro" dei tuoi dati locali per costringerti a sborsare altri 60€ all'anno. A questo si aggiunge anche la chiusura del Chart Viewer da browser per la pianificazione su Mac/PC. Politica commerciale rapace, aggressiva e del tutto priva di rispetto per la sicurezza di chi va per mare e per i clienti storici. Applicazione disinstallata da tutti i dispositivi di bordo. Passo alla concorrenza che tratta i naviganti come clienti e non come limoni da spremere. DA EVITARE ASSOLUTAMENTE

I have sold my boat and they have deleted my purchaches services due to inactivities. My purchase was at the time a good deal but they changed the conditions in order to delete my account. Then they charge you the big price if you need to recover your account.(you cannot recover; you need to re-pay with the exagerated new rates) Avoid at all cost unless you like being scammed by those big companies.

Took funds Twice for one product wouldn't return
I had a 7 day trial . Then decided it was okay so i paid £39.99 for uk and irerland maps and to renew auto next year. when i got my bank statatment they had charged me twice. i contacted Garmin, google Play . and the developer all pushed me to each other and refused to pay back even though i still wanted to keep the product and still renewed for next year. So i contacted my bank and they raised a dispute. I have know had £39.99 returned to me but when i got to the app it now has removed me and its like i am a new customer. So I'm still £39.99 down and no Garmin Navionics . A total rip off and no one to talk too to help. Never again Bad customer service from all three but the worsts was Google and Play store

Garmin/Navionics such a scam
After over ten years using Navionics its time to remove it, its a complete rip off but its not alone in making boating a lot less accessible and safe for users, all of the big brands are abusing boaters with extreme purchase costs and subscription charges, shame on the lot of them back to paper charts and open CPN it is
