Dirty rooms & rude management
Motel 6 in Whitby is a masterclass in the art of cutting every corner to save a buck. Staff can barely do anything without manager approval, and the manager is rude. She interrupted me saying "No, no no no no no no no no…" while I was trying to describe an issue to her. Rooms are dirty—dust under the beds, grime on the towel racks and stuck to corners of the room, holes in window screens. Hallways and elevator are smelly. The water just barely gets warm, but not not enough for a satisfying shower. Mattresses suck and transfer every movement your partner makes, making it difficult to sleep. Front desk staff gave us 15 minutes after check in to let them know about issues with the rooms. We were traveling with our kids, and all of us were extremely tired by the time we arrived. We didn't notice a lot of the issues until the next day, so I guess we're out of luck then? I was expecting a cheap motel, I've stayed in cheap accommodations before that were absolutely fine. Nothing special, but fine to spend a few nights. That's all I was expecting from Motel 6 in Whitby, and they failed to meet even that extremely low bar.

I will NEVER stay with Motel 6 again
I will NEVER stay with Motel 6 again. 1) The location of this Motel, advertised as Thanksgiving Point, is nowhere near Thanksgiving Point. Very much in an ordinary part of Lehi. 2) I feel SCAMMED. When I booked I did not know how long I would stay and was persuaded to book for a week. Before confirming that booking I asked three times, and got voice confirmation, that if I cancelled and reduced my booking there would be ZERO penalty, and I would only pay for the room rate I was quoted for the nights I stayed. (It would be recorded on call voice recording) I paid the week in advance and stayed two nights and when I checked out they billed me a $123 cancellation fee. I raised it with the Manager and he said he could only refund what the computer said and that he could do nothing. I tried to contact the company by online complaint email. The contact form required a Reservation number to even submit the case. None of my booking documentation's even had a Reservation number on it. Confirmation number, yes, but no reservation number. A Confirmation number would not let me submit the case. So much for online communication and complaint. So I wrote a general email complaint to the main Customer Service email address listed on the website. That was weeks ago and I haven't had a reply. I feel conned and cheated. After confirming on the phone three times about no penalty I was billed a penalty and had no recourse. I will never stay in that chain again. Totally pissed off. And by the way, the laundry machine stank, I would never put my clothes in there.

Great stop while traveling through I-40
Great stop while traveling through I-40. Quiet and convenient location with clean, Clean room and comfortable beds. Friendly staff and an easy check-in. Perfect place to rest after a long drive. Quiet town, peaceful location, and felt very safe. I Would stay again in return...!!

I am complaining about the Motel 6…
I am complaining about the Motel 6 Website. I downloaded the Motel 6 Website because I will be traveling for the next few days and was booking my room in advance. When you go on the Website be very careful and do not make the same mistake I made. When you go on the Website you search for the City & State you wish to book a Motel 6 room. After you click on the City & State you wish to book your room in DO NOT CLICK COMFIRM! If you click confirm it will book your room for the night you are making the reservation and night you want to stay. I did it twice not knowing what I had done the 1st time. I called the 1st property and they happily canceled the reservation and switched it to the night I needed. The 2nd property was not that nice. The people that manage the property would not move the wrong reservation to the night I was going to be there. They spoke very broken English, it was very hard for me to understand the person I was speaking to. I called my Credit Card Company, they said they would try to dispute the charge but did not make any promises. I canceled all of my present reservations with Motel 6 while I am traveling and will no longer stay or do business with Motel 6. I also called the 800 number, they also were no help! The Motel 6 location is Woodland in Flagstaff, AZ.
