I would not recommend this service…
I would not recommend this service based on my experience. Communication has been difficult, with emails from no-reply addresses and no clear point of contact taking responsibility for my case. When calling, I have been required to leave messages, which have not been returned. An ID check via Teams was requested, along with a proposed date and time, but this was not confirmed within 24 hours. The only consistent activity has been related to billing. At this stage, I am £140 out of pocket despite not having formally engaged as a client. Overall, the service has not met expectations in terms of responsiveness or organisation, and I would advise no one uses their services

Not worth 1 star. A shocking experience. Online forms that don't work, horrific communication and extra fees pulled out of a hat. 6 weeks to get nowhere with them. I've given up and will find a different solicitor to start over! Avoid!

Use someone - anyone - else
Horrendous experience - the one star is a full one star more than deserved. A confused and confusing one size fits all form (with security concerns) requiring you to do all the work to start with. Multiple automatically generated emails that fail to clarify the requirements as a follow up ("Additional Services" - explanation "There are currently additional sevices") Then, for closing, more than one desperate attempt to try to charge you several hundred pounds for something you can get for free. They were engaged by a Mortgage Provider and we had no choice but to deal with them but I would strongly recommend using literally any other solicitor if you have any choice in the matter.

I must express my disappointment with the service provided by this solicitor, echoing sentiments shared by other reviewers. Regrettably, we were assigned to them by our new mortgage provider for conveyancing, and the experience has been nothing short of frustrating. The entire process has been excessively prolonged, with seemingly intentional delays that have incurred additional costs during a challenging cost-of-living crisis. Commencing the remortgage process in January, it's disheartening to find myself here in March still awaiting completion. Attempts to contact them by phone have been futile, and the communication through unpersonalized email accounts with generic responses is less than satisfactory. Having bought and sold several houses in the past, I've never encountered such inefficiency. McVey and Murricane have held onto our mortgage offer for weeks, inexplicably working at their own pace. Despite our fixed rate expiring on 28/02, they were well aware of this deadline but opted to wait until the last possible moment to complete the mortgage, resulting in an extra £700 in costs for us. Discovering that the settlement was still pending on the day the new mortgage was set to start, after weeks of radio silence, was particularly frustrating. This lack of proactive communication and apparent disregard for the impact on clients facing substantial increases in monthly mortgage payments is unacceptable. It's evident that McVey and Murricane prioritize their own convenience over the financial well-being of their clients. For those seeking reliable and efficient solicitors, I strongly advise avoiding this firm at all costs.

Great conveyancing solicitors
Mmi - McVey & Murricane solicitors handled my conveyancing needs. I would happily recommend this firm to anyone buying homes in Scotland. Well communicated, and very smooth process. Anything I found confusing I could resolve swiftly. I am disabled and cannot make phone calls, it was extremely pleasing to deal with a firm who were so happy to communicate with me by email. I can only imagine the process would be even smoother if you didn't have this challenge. Great firm, and special thanks to Bethany Beattie who handled my conveyancing.
