Possibly one of the best guitar shops…
Possibly one of the best guitar shops in UK. I popped in store around March to try out and buy a Jet JS-400 S-style guitar as a knee-jerk reaction to the FMIC lawsuits. Not only did they let me try several, I had a chat with the seller and they praised the quality control of the brand, and also presented me with their Sister brand Spira which I wasn't aware of. They didn't have the specific colour I wanted in store, but graciously ordered it for me for collection (and as I don't live in Glasgow I did ask if I can come only on Saturdays), to which was told no problem. They do have an in-shop technician. Indeed all of the Jet Guitars were superb for the price point, and the one I got needed no setup whatsoever. It is rare to buy a sub £600 guitar and not have to relevel the frets or correct some minor woodwork of sorts. The box was opened, so they did inspect the guitar before handing it to me. I also specified that i wanted to convert the HSS into a SSS, to which they warned me that the scratchplate does not use standard Fender drill templates, and offered to order a new SSS Jet scratchplate for me for another £15. An absolute no-brainer, and sharp as a tack! I did ask if the routing was HSH or HSS as a curiosity item, and upon not knowing the seller also very graciously took a PH2 to remove the scratchplate and have a look himself, which I really didn't expect. The shop itself is very tidy, and there's bound to be an acoustic or electric gem you will find. I also remember having bought some small parts off their eBay store a few years ago, no issues there either. Now I consult their website as a first port of call when I'm looking for gear. I hope you can afford to stay in business, as it would be a big loss for Glasgow otherwise.

Excellent product and excellent service
I have just completed a purchase from Merchant City Music and the whole experience was excellent and professional. I asked questions and was given straight and clear answers. The guitar I ordered had a long delivery date, but a B-Stock version became available and I was contacted and offered it, having been provided with a comprehensive set of photographs to show the (almost perfect) condition of the guitar. The delivery was very quick and the guitar was excellently packaged.
