It's good software BUT
It's good software BUT: Planmaker, the Excel alternative that's part of this suite, is missing a key element. I use pivot tables a lot, they're essential for rapid and robust data analysis. With pivot tables it's fundamentally important to be able to sort by values in ascending or descending order so as to be able to see outliers etc. Planmaker won't do this, a glaring omission, it's a feature it doesn't have but should have had from the start. I otherwise like this software and I'd like to get away from using MS Office but the open source alternatives, e.g. Libre Office, just doesn't quite cut it I'm afraid.

Complete pain in the Arxx
Complete pain in the Arxx. I have hit 'unsubscribe' twice but am still getting newsletters. The site only seems to allow me to 'pause' not 'stop' the news letters. Grrr.....

Impossible to update, almost impossible to uninstall!
I suddenly started getting numerous, repeated update notifications for Softmaker Free Office, but the updates refused to work. I got so fed up, I tried to uninstall the program. BCUninstaller removed most of it, but then I kept getting the error message "the specified account already exists", and the uninstall would roll back and remain uncompleted. After doing numerous Google searches and an AI chat to find a solution, I ended up downloading and using Total Uninstall, which FINALLY allowed me to uninstall the remains of the program! (People always recommend Revo Uninstaller, but only the expensive premium version has the 'force uninstall' feature. Total Uninstall is actually free.) I don't know what's wrong with Softmaker software, but I will never use it again, and will warn others not to use it. I found that OpenOffice is much easier to use anyway, so I'll stick with that.

I installed their software in Linux and it immediately removed my right to set any other competing software as default.

I managed to create one document with…
I managed to create one document with pictures which I saved as a .pdf, thankfully. I had presumed as it was set to save every five minutes that it had actually saved my work in the document, only to find the following day it had saved the first 12 pages of 28 and those 12 all the pictures had reverted to 'object frame' and were all over the place. Not to worry I could start a new document starting with the 26th page of the previous document only to find after 6 pages that I constantly got a message saying "not enough memory". I have more than enough memory, storage etc, no viruses, no problem with my memory diagnostic. So I can only conclude this program is what is causing the problem. Wasted 2 days on this. Wrote this review so you don't waste yours.
