Far too expensive for the functionality…
Far too expensive for the functionality it actually provides Framer presents itself as a professional platform for building and managing websites, with a price tag to match. Unfortunately, my experience is that the functionality it provides does not justify that price. I repeatedly run into limitations and unpredictable behaviour when trying to implement very basic, everyday website functionality. I am not talking about complex custom features, but things you would reasonably expect from any professional website platform: providing files for download, setting up links correctly, configuring what happens after a form is submitted, reusing or moving simple elements, and making basic styling changes. What makes this particularly frustrating is that some features are described as available in Framer’s rather limited documentation, yet in practice they either do not work as described or do not appear to work at all. This leads to a disproportionate amount of time being spent trying to determine whether something has been configured incorrectly, is hidden somewhere in the interface, only works under specific circumstances, or requires yet another workaround. Even basic actions can behave in ways you would never reasonably expect. As a result, I have lost confidence that a simple change will actually be simple. Almost every small adjustment has the potential to turn into another time-consuming search for a solution. That is ultimately my biggest issue with Framer: it takes far too much time to get basic functionality working properly. That is time not spent on design, content or improving the website, but on finding solutions to problems that simply should not exist at this price point. Framer can undoubtedly produce visually attractive websites, and the visual editor has its strengths. But a professional website platform needs to be more than a good-looking design tool. It also needs to be reliable, predictable and practical to manage. My conclusion: based on my experience, Framer is far too expensive for the level of functionality and reliability it actually provides. Had I known beforehand how much time I would spend on basic tasks and workarounds, I would have chosen a different platform.

Pricing screen charged me the wrong product, refund refused
I have been a paying Framer customer for a long time and buy AI credits regularly, always in small steps because it is a real cost for my business. Today I was switching between the monthly and annual pricing options to buy roughly 90 EUR of monthly renewable credits. The price shown updated as I toggled, but after clicking through, the purchase turned out to be a one-time credit top-up of 363 EUR instead of the monthly plan I had selected. I reported this within minutes. The answer was that one-time top-ups are not refundable, full stop. Framer's own published refund policy states that refunds are available within 14 days of purchase for EU customers, and I was never told why this particular purchase falls outside it. After pushing back I was offered 5,000 goodwill credits, described as the maximum the agent is allowed to give. That is a fraction of what I was charged. My issue is not only the money. It is that a long-standing customer reporting a checkout problem immediately got a policy quote instead of an actual investigation into whether the pricing screen behaved correctly. If you buy credits here, screenshot the checkout screen before you confirm.

Rip off. Was running low on bandwidth so in order to cover it they told me i had to purchase a year of coverage but in text they said I could get a refund on the difference prorated if I decided I didn’t need it. So since i offloaded videos, etc. I decided to cancel. I was then told a credit would be applied instead. Been waiting 3 days now for resolution. Also do use the AI agents. Complete rip off. You spend most of your time having them correct what they broke. I’ll be using another hosting service next year.
