Mod Shop Is A Failure
This is directed at The Mod Shop; I have ordered at least ten instruments from the Fender Mod Shop, in addition to owning a slew of other Fender guitars. Mod Shop has always been reliable with their advertised completion/shipping time of thirty days. My last build was late, and now my present build is two weeks past completion. And I'm not the only buyer experiencing this issue. Some other buyers have gone over two months before receiving their instruments! And Fender has already been paid for these products! Service has been responsive, but it's the same canned response that everyone gets. I'm ticked off to the point I'll never buy another Fender product as long as I live.

Thanks for being there to work it out
Fender has been catching a lot of flack lately. As an artist, designer, luthier and instrument maker myself, i feel a debt of gratitude to the legacy of Leo Fender. Everyone from the shopkeeper to the guitar tech on tour, to the diy folks at home have been given a leg up by Fender, IMHO. There’s so many options and price points for customizing your purchases too. Maybe to some degree, folks have taken it for granted .. and that perhaps in part has sparked a natural response from Fender. Anyway…. more presently,.. on another of my purchases.. a set of pickups, i had a quality control issue that i only noticed after the warranty period had expired. I contacted Mark B at Consumer Solutions (or Relations.. i forget) and told him my dilemma, I supplied my receipt and pictures of my issue. No questions asked Mark B took care of me. My new set of pickups just arrived and i’m just about back in business! Thanks Mark.! And as a final point of comparison, i’ve been trying to get a dental appointment for weeks now and have yet to even get a local receptionist on the line to put me on the schedule. Yet during this same timeframe i’ve had a rep from ‘big bad money grubbing’ Fender personally correspond with me and immediately resolve my issue. Tonight, i’ll have my ‘82 Jazz bass back in business! But still no idea when my dentist can get me in. I understand there are nuances and layers to every issue. Fender isn’t perfect. I’m rocking parts myself that aren’t always boutique perfect, but whenever i’ve had an issue, someone has been on the other end of the line and accountable. As the years have gone by, I’m realizing that i don’t always need perfect, but i do need people who can think, make decisions, troubleshoot. Fender has always been brilliantly realistic. Leo’s designs were visionary, ahead of their time.. and down to earth practical. Realistically, I just need a business to hire folks who can work it out. I love my Fenders.. and i guarantee you none of them are like anybody else’s.. because Fender makes it so easy to professionally or even diy customize. And equally, i love that… so far, folks at Fender have been there to ‘work it out’ when that’s been needed. Thanks Mark B. Thanks Leo

I had a pretty rough quality control experience with an online retailer and was pretty dejected about trying to add a specific Charvel to my collection. I called Fender and was suprised I was not chatting with AI or Dr. Google. Kane was a real person, with real listening skills, and while he didn't have the magic wand to fix the factory QC on this particular model, he did make me feel good about the brand. He went above and beyond to confirm why I have been and will remain a loyal Charvel owner. For the time being, I decided to give Fender time to fix the Charvel issue. So I bought an EVH 5150 Deluxe instead. Actually, two.
