We recently transited through Doha and were really disappointed with the way our children were treated by security. They PATTED THEM DOWN as standard process No adults are patted down, but my 3 year old was, while being told not to cry. This is COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE. The whole process was not professional and I was furious by the whole thing, while my child was incredibly upset and didn't understand what was happening. If you have children DO NOT transit through Doha.

I had a very disappointing experience at Hamad International Airport. The staff were not helpful when I needed assistance and seemed uninterested in providing good customer service. The prices throughout the airport were unbelievably expensive, far beyond what you would reasonably expect. What was most disappointing was the contrast between the airport's reputation and my actual experience. There is a strong emphasis on promoting Doha as a welcoming and hospitable city, but that was not reflected in the way I was treated. Based on my visit, I did not feel welcomed, and the experience fell well short of the image that is advertised. Security and staff are lowkey racist and men here are disgusting!

Very expensive and poor quality food service. Even a small bottle of water doesn't cost this much anywhere in Europe, but here at Doha Airport it costs 18 qatari riyals. I ordered a chicken and rice bowl, and it was nothing more than 4–5 small strips of meat while the rest was dry rice. They are grossly taking advantage of people.

I have travelled through Hamad International Airport many times over the years and have always regarded it as one of the world’s leading airports. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was completely inconsistent with a five-star airport. While transiting through Doha, I slipped on an unmarked wet floor in one of the restrooms and sustained a medically confirmed knee injury. Although there was a wet floor sign at the restroom entrance, the area where I actually slipped had no warning sign or barrier. The placement of the sign suggested that the hazard was limited to the entrance, while the section where I fell was left unmarked. I was left lying on the floor in severe pain for several minutes. The response from staff was deeply concerning. One employee attempted to massage my injured knee rather than ensuring I received appropriate medical assistance. I was later told that paramedics could not attend immediately because only male paramedics were available. Eventually, I had to leave the restroom without having received any assistance. The injury required hospital treatment, a knee brace, pain medication and caused me to miss my scheduled flight. Despite reporting the incident, I was not provided with an incident report or any written acknowledgement. My request for reimbursement of my medical expenses has also not been addressed. Instead, I received a generic response stating that procedures had been followed, without answering any of the specific questions I raised. What disappointed me most was not only the accident itself but the complete lack of accountability afterwards. A five-star airport is measured not only by its architecture but by how it responds when something goes wrong. In my case, I experienced inadequate hazard management, poor incident handling, and a complete absence of ownership. Based on this experience, I cannot regard the service I received as meeting the standards expected of a five-star airport.
