at Mansfield on loading bay,the outside is disgusting over flowing bins with no lids put down,old fish boxes left outside the smell is awful the last time I was there saw rats by bins I don't think I would want to eat there

Poor Value
We were regular customers at The Cods Scallops for several years before moving away from Nottingham with work. Returning to the city, we were looking forward to renewing our acquaintance with the establishment. But considerably smaller portions, mediocre food and a whopping £1.80 for a thimbleful of tartare sauce will have us looking elsewhere for fish 'n chips.

Lovely chips and excellent customer service attitude
It was a mixed experience for me as it’s at the pricey end for most items but the chips were plentiful, hot and crispy, the peas were tasty and natural looking, not illuminous green like some places, the service seemed a bit slow given it was a small easy order (and it wasn’t that busy), probably stacked behind bigger orders but could have been faster. Customer service from Evess was brilliant, no quibble at all with a slight issue that arose and very sympathetic, quickly remedied. Loos are clean and fresh. Gave it a 4 overall. I’d give Evess a 5 for their customer service attitude but the ‘real fish fingers’ glitched the overall experience to a 4.

The first two haddock fish suppers were…
The first two haddock fish suppers were lovely but the last one was not haddock. I paid for haddock. I was not given haddock. Don't insult your customers whilst taking their money. Will not be going back.

Absolutely fantastic chipper/chippy
Absolutely fantastic chipper/chippy. Only visited the Mansfield Road shop on the off-chance on a Monday evening after the so-called (other owners) pub/restaurant nearby said they had no food available! Was really pleasantly surprised. Service from two young servers (and the cook who actually brought the food out to us) was excellent - friendly and fast. The food was also superb; freshly-0cooked from scratch and far better (and considerably cheaper) than we would have got had the pub actually been as advertised. Cannot fault it. Only wish is that we were local so could use it again.
