Not always good service
Franca Arturi
I am writing this review to recognize an outstanding CIBC Progress Support Leader. C. F. Employee #3915. I recently encountered a highly critical issue with my account, one that I honestly thought there would be no resolution. C. F. took complete control of the situation and went completely above and beyond to resolve it. She took ownership of the problem, stayed with me, and guided me through the process, showing extreme patience. I could sense a smile on her face throughout the whole ordeal. Constantly apologizing for the situation that occurred. She ensured me that she is doing everything in her power to get this resolved as quickly as possible. What makes this manager truly remarkable is her compassionate approach from the start . Her professionalism, patience, and dedication turned a stressful situation into a smooth, calming experience. CIBC Corporate is lucky to have her on their team. Her customer service skills are top-notch, and she made me feel valued as a client. I highly recommend her. F. Arturi

CIBC was my first bank account as a child when i was 9 or 10 years old. I have now been with them for approximately 26 years. The past few years, the customer service has tanked and despite escalating calls to supervisors constantly nothing improves. I have connected accounts with CIBC Bank USA and it took over three months to get a loan approved because CIBC and CIBC USA would not communicate with each other's loan departments. Instead, they made me and the agent completing the application bend over backwards as the go-betweens. I'm not exaggerating... this took three months, and the agent himself couldn't believe how badly the situation was handled. Earlier this year, they dropped my credit card limit from $15,000 to $4500 with no notice and told me I would not be able to increase it again for at least a month. I paid out the card and canceled it. Now, I am trying to pay off my loan to close it out, and low and behold, more issues. It took multiple phone calls to get ahold of anyone. That person told me how to proceed to pay it off through my portal and that I could do it immediately. Well wouldn't you know, I went to do so and was met with an error code. I finally got a call back, at 8:15pm on Friday night (inappropriate time to be calling back and I obviously missed their call because of it). A quick google told me that the issue is you cannot submit a payment that is equal to or greater than the upcoming scheduled payment... something that should have been addressed by the agent when they gave me step-by-step instructions on paying it off. One day later, my payout amount has now increased by $8.09. It will increase again Sunday, and Monday (which is the earliest I'll be able to hear back from someone in the loan department). Small amount for the individual but times that by how many people I am sure experience this same issue, they are making money off it... dishonesty or poor training.. you decide. I have had nothing but terrible experiences with this company over the recent years and they do not care about losing life-long customers. Do yourself a favor and don't get involved with CIBC. As I right this review, I am waiting on a return call from a supervisor that was supposed to be "within the next 15 minutes." That 15 minutes has expired and, shocker, no phone call.

The CIBC banking app is nothing more then a tracking app for third parties to track you while using the banking app. I would advise anyone who using the app to have a good VPN in place to stop all the evasive tracking attempts from third parties. I actually emailed CIBC and asked that they may share some of the monies that they receive from these third parties that want to track our every day mobile banking use, if CIBC would share the wealth with their customers, maybe I will share some data from my personal device that is used for online backing. I am sure they will not share the wealth, so I will just keep blocking their third party tracking attempts, some of us still believe in privacy, they told me to read their privacy policy, I don't need to read it at all, because if you are not using a VPN these days, you don't have any privacy...

I’ve been using CIBC for the last 3years and the experience I’ve had with their financial support team handling disputes has been very bad, and inexperienced to me. A financial institution reported a transaction fraud to your bank and investigation commenced, they unblocked the while still holding to my Cibc account and I’ve spoke to CIBC financial advisor on this issue countless times and the last customer rep I spoke with was so rude and didn’t even understand my complaint. Moving forward I’m closing my account with Cibc and I’m gonna be left with my auto loan with them as soon this issue is resolved . I can’t believe a commercial bank can’t write to a non-commercial financial bank to get an update as regards to their clients which was reported by an online banking company & yet they feel they’ve the right to flag my account without hesitation and looking into it with them. I was told I’ll have to contact LEMFI as they’re the one who flagged my account which it sound very disappointing to me from a bank as a whole . I hope they’re able to adjust on this very policy as they’ll keep loosing customers if it keep going like this

Auch nicht für Geld. Unclaimed ist fair. Claimed gibt das Mikrofon — nicht den Radiergummi.
