Near-impossible emergency help
Was stuck at a car rental place in Albania needing to pay off part of my Barclaycard before I could put a deposit on it. Bank payments are not instant they take 2 hours to clear. Credit limit can’t be temporarily increased. Called their “emergency number” and they took 35 MINUTES to finally answer the phone. Told me they can’t help at all, can see I have made payment but just have to wait 2 hours until I can spend on the card. Told me they can’t speed up the process. Eventually I asked if the person on the phone could try to pay the card using my debit card details to which I was told yes, but it would also be the same 2 hour wait. I got them to do it anyway and INSTANTLY it went through and I could spend again. Takeaways: - Phone staff are not trained and have no idea what they are doing - Emergency help they take forever to answer the phone AND they have literally zero power to do anything (honestly idek why they have this number) Terrible customer service, terrible tech, terrible app, avoid at all costs

Easy applying, nightmare transfer.
I would say applying and receiving the card was easy. My problems began with doing a transfer, one bank saying one thing and Barclaycard saying another, I feel like I am going round in circles. If it doesn't sort soon I will close and move .
