I made a reservation for an ocean front room at the Reef months in advance directly with an Atlantis booking agent. I paid for that room in advance as required. Later I had to change the dates of the reservation and the booking agent (Shantay was her name) told me that it was all taken care of and sent me a confirmation with all the correct information (room type and check in date). I arrived at the hotel as planned (and on the date stated in the confirmation email) and the manager (Carmichael) told me that their system did not have me arriving on that day. I showed him my confirmation email directly from Atlantis with all the confirmed details. He said that the Reef’s reservation system showed completely different dates. My confirmation email didn’t seem to matter. This was obviously a mistake on the Atlantis end and not my end. He apologized and said that unfortunately the ocean front rooms were fully booked but that he could get me a room on the other side of the hotel overlooking the employee parking lot. I was told repeatedly how “lucky” I was that any room was available for me at all I was obviously not happy but really had no choice but to accept. Carmichael assured me that the difference in room rates between the two rooms (which was substantial) would be refunded to me. The oceanfront room that I had already paid for was obviously much more expensive. At the time of checkout a week later I had still not received the refund so I inquired at the front desk before leaving. A staff member went to a room behind the front desk to speak with the manager and then returned to tell me to me that Carmichael was working on it "with corporate" and that he would call me personally to confirm the refund. Carmichael was apparently gaslighting me the whole time. I never received a call from Carmichael. After a week I called the Atlantis number asking about my refund and was told to email customer service. I emailed. Crickets after that. Never heard back. At this point I feel that they have stolen that money from me. Once they have your money you will not get it back apparently. I also booked a dolphin adventure for my daughter after we arrived ($300 paid in advance). She later felt scared and changed her mind about doing it. I called to cancel it 4 days prior to the reservation and was told that it was non refundable. Again, once they have your money you will not get it back. Aside from all of the above, I would say the beach is beautiful, the poolside service is practically non-existent, everything is outrageously expensive). Mixed bag on employees – some were very nice but many were rude to us. Gym is not nearly big enough – super crowded. Restaurants: Service in general was poor. Incredibly expensive. $500 for my family of 5 to have a buffet dinner at Poseiden’s Table! Had dinner at Fish - the food was good but they billed me for a glass of wine that I ordered but was never served. Instead of taking it off the bill they brought me the wine in a plastic solo cup and said “there you go sir”. Unbelievable With all of the above, I will never return to Atlantis and would not recommend booking a vacation there. Even if you book directly with the Atlantis agent as I did you are not guaranteed anything despite them sending you an email confirming the details. You may show up in Bahamas and arrive at the front desk only to find they do not have a room for you. If you do go then beware of anything the manager Carmichael at the Reef tells you. You cannot rely on it being true.

My wife and I went away for a quick vacation to get out of the cold and my wife settled on the Atlantis Resort as being a desirable destination. Although the resort was nice, everything that you eat or do while on the resort is exorbitantly expensive. For example, the breakfast buffet, which was passable at best, ran us $125.00 for two people who each had an omelet, coffee and orange juice! Most of the restaurant meals for two people with a drink each was in excess of $400.00. But beyond the observations about pricing, the real concern was that our room (which was quite nice), had absolutely no hot water for the majority of our stay. Multiple calls to the front desk to complain resulted in only one hot shower over the course of 4 days. On our return home, I called the resort to complain and they finally admitted they had an issue with the plumbing and offered us a measly $350.00 credit for the inconvenience. It was my wife and my 30th anniversary and this was not the sweet getaway either one of us had imagined. On top of all that, I was sick for the duration of our stay and the thing I wanted most was a hot shower to help clear my head and sinuses, but that was not to be - cold showers only. I would also caution other potential visitors that the resort is quite large and you need to be prepared to walk long distances to get between buildings, find restaurants and navigate activities. It wasn't until the 3rd day that we were able to get our bearings and discover the best way to get to and from. Overall, a pretty disappointing experience for the money spent and pretty lame customer service from the resort. I informed the desk staff that I could go anywhere in the continental US and stay in a $100.00 hotel and expect to get hot water, but they really didn't seem to get the point of my complaint. What should have been an A+ ended up being a C...

Overall - Mediocre for the price you pay. Beautiful decor and layout of the entire Paradise Island. Rooms - Poor ventilation in bathrooms, semi functional Keurig machine. Make sure to get clarity on water view vs ocean view. Also balcony has no seating in case you thought of having breakfast outside of your room. No complimentary breakfast buffet. As of may 2025- not inclusive, very expensive for meals. Most of the restaurants are in casino. We brought plenty of cash since the atm fees are ridiculous . For those with family members with handicaps- we felt there were Not enough handicap access - however they have scooters to rent. Some days the elevator for handicap would not work. Staff were helpful some days and some days, they had a chip on their shoulder. Use your own iPhone or android camera with tripod - don’t waste money with the resort photographers - amateurish photographers - nice folks but meh. We did a lot of kids adventures and they are very expensive . does not include photos so you pay for that package ($$) so bring your own plastic sleeve to carry around all wet areas to take your own photos or ask fellow travelers to snap some photos.

EXTREMELY expensive, but absolutely mediocre in every way. It was not luxurious, relaxing, or in anyway special. I frankly felt like I was taken advantage of. Kinda like: we have you here on this island as a prisoner, we will take advantage of you being stuck here, we will bleed you dry, and then send you back wherever you came from to bring in the next sucker. I could not recommend this resort to anyone. PRO TIP: Bring your own food and drinks or risk going bankrupt. And don’t use the ATMs - they charged me $60 to withdraw $600 from my own account.
