The defacto standard to find "something better" for whatever software or service you are using. I've been in IT for 20 years and I've been using AlternativeTo.net for as long as I can remember. Finding alternative tools or services comes up a *lot*. Whether it's wanting to find an open source alternative, a version of "that app" you read about but is on Mac but you need one for Windows, or you're looking for something better than the one you got AlternativeTo.net is the place to find that. There is a large trustworthy community that strives to constantly be adding and linking alternatives, keeping them updated when they are discontinued or they start packing adware with their products. I've had only a handful of interactions with volunteers when I proposed edits and they've always been nothing but polite and respectful even when I proposed a service that already existed or an edit that was not necessary. I really appreciate AlternativeTo.net and use them almost every week and find their blog posts to be extremely helpful and insightful and cannot recommend it any more.
